How to protect skin from sun tan?

Skin tanning is the darkening of skin due to the excessive exposure of UV Rays  from the sun or some people uses artificial source such as tanning bed or tanning lamps. 
The people with lighter complexion, they take sun bath on the beaches because they wish to develop melanin over their skin layer. But, people with medium complexion would hardly like to have dark colour skin because they already have more melanin in their skin. 


Tanning of our skin is always bad for us. Tanning caused by harmful UV Rays from the sun or any artificial source, creates skin problems and damaging effects. 
The World Health Organisation has declared that the indoor tanning devices to be cancer-causing agents like the cancer cause by the tobacco. Based on research, 75 % are more likely to develop melanoma than those who have never tanned indoors.

Harmful effects of sun tanning


Tanning of skin is not good even is indoors or outdoors. Some people feels that suntan makes them look good, but they do not know that the sun is not our good friend. Excessive exposure to the sun accelerates melanin production in the skin that leads to many skin problems such as-

These are the following tips on protecting skin from sun tan are –

•It is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible during peak Sun hours between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. 
•Always apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or more to all exposed area of skin when you are going for anywhere even in cloudy days also. It's provides protection from harmful UV Rays.
•Wear full sleeved shirts or tops , Sun glasses, hats and other accessories must be used to prevent the harshness of the UV rays on the body.
•You should use sunglasses with total UV protection.
•Strictly avoid any physical work during the peak sun hour. Also be sure your children not play outdoor during the day, protect your children from sun exposure.
•Wear light colour clothes in summer.
•You can use aloe vera gel in sun burn, it provides cooling effect.
•Drink plenty of Water and other juices during summer season to stay hydrated.
