BECAUSE THE GREATEST TOOL YOU HAVE TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS IS YOUR TIME.
Problem is that your time divided among everything else you have to do. You have to go to work, take care of the kids, cook dinner, spend time with friends, surf the internet, sleep. All 24 hours of your day is already occupied.
Your life, the way it's set up right now, is not conducive to reaching your goals. It's just not. So what are you going to do about it? You have two choices:
1. Keep doing everything that you've always done while lying to yourself about wanting different results in your life.
2. Carve out a specific amount of time to
If today goes exactly like last Monday (with regards to how you spend your time) then you are not working towards bringing anything new into your life. When I decided, many years ago, that I wanted to experience different outcomes, the way I spent time had to change. Waking up earlier was a must since I had to be at work by 9:00 am. So I started waking up at 5:00 am to work on myself. Soon, I was dedicating my weekends towards realizing my intentions.
At my day job, my supervisor required me to send out my weekly calendar complete with what I wanted to accomplish for the week. I've taken that routine into my personal life as well. I'd write out things like which posts I'd write for the week and notate tasks to accomplish that week. But then I realized.....even though I had a set of goals to accomplish, I was not setting aside time to work on manifesting them. If you just looked at my calendar, you couldn't tell what my goals were.
So I'm trying something new. Whatever goals I have will be broken down and written into my weekly calendar. This has so many benefits:
1| Calendaring my goals ensures that I am investing my time towards my future.
2| It keeps me focused on what I want to achieve.
3| This practice sends powerful message that I'm really serious about achieving what I want. It's not just empty words.
4| I move from the language of "I want" to "I will." There's a world of difference between saying "I want to lose weight" and "I will be working out tomorrow at 6:30 am."
If you aren't already using a calendar to manage your personal life, I beg you to make this a practice in 2015. You have to start
Imagine that next Monday I'll ask you to give account for how you managed your time this week. How will you dedicate your time this week to show that you are serious about reaching your goals?
